How this product aligns with the EYLF
Supporting play-based learning and inquiry
The Wooden Marble Run encourages children to engage in open-ended play, allowing them to explore and experiment with different configurations of ramps and tracks. This hands-on experience promotes inquiry as children test their ideas about how to create effective pathways for the marbles, fostering curiosity and critical thinking.
Developing early STEM and problem-solving skills
This product provides opportunities for children to engage in foundational STEM concepts, such as gravity, motion, and cause-and-effect relationships. As children build and modify their marble runs, they practice problem-solving skills by figuring out how to create tracks that successfully guide the marbles from start to finish.

Play-Based Activity Ideas
Encourage children to create themed marble runs, such as a “space” or “jungle” run, using additional materials for decoration and storytelling. Facilitate a group challenge where children work together to design the tallest or most complex marble run, promoting teamwork and communication.
Provocation Ideas
Introduce a question such as, “What happens if we change the angle of the ramp?” to stimulate discussion and experimentation. Provide a timer to encourage children to race the marbles down their tracks, fostering excitement and engagement in their learning process.
