When Waterford Rise Early Learning Centre in Warragul, Victoria opened, it offered 114 places to children aged between 6 weeks and 12 years old.

An extensive variety of stimulating play and educational resources was critical to equip seven rooms catering for such a wide age range. STE Products supplied all the furniture and products ready for the Waterford Rise ELC opening and are now providing additional items to tempt and educate curious little minds.

This is the third childcare centre that Murray Jeffrey, Director of Waterford Rise, has set up and his previous experience meant he knew what he wanted. “I had lots of ideas of my own,” Murray said, “and STE had a really broad range of products but they also recommended particular items they thought would add to the overall design and functionality of the centre. For example, they have a range of natural timber tables and chairs, which look wonderful and people always comment on them when they come into the centre.”

“One very popular product that STE recommended is the Natural Ergo Wooden Cot,” Murray explained. “These cots are highly regarded by our staff because the raised base means they don’t have to bend down while holding a baby. And of course, they look great.”

Murray worked with Dan Kennard, STE’s Director, and was impressed by his tenacity. “We already had a supplier for our childcare equipment and there hadn’t been any problems but Dan was adamant that their excellent customer service would make the change worthwhile. Dan certainly inspired me with confidence and visited regularly to ensure he understood our requirements. Prices were similar to what we had paid before and the product samples that Dan brought in were top quality and good value, so we decided to give STE a go.”

During the installation and set up, STE always sent a member of staff to manage the assembly process and dispose of all packaging. This impressed Murray: “I’ve managed these set ups myself and it’s a long job, assembling the furniture and deciding where everything has to go. Then when you’ve finished, there’s another day needed to tidy up all the packaging! With STE handling the entire assembly and rubbish disposal, it saved me a great deal of time.”

Murray also commented on the friendliness and fantastic service attitude of the people he dealt with at STE. “The STE staff who were on site right through the set up, worked really hard and always had a friendly smile. Even when STE had finished their work, they made their skip available to us for a few extra days, which was a blessing with the licensing inspection coming up.”

Waterford Rise passed its licensing inspection with flying colours and is now open for business, with busy little fingers testing out the products every day. “I know that STE stand behind all their furniture and supplies so if there are any problems, I’m confident we will receive excellent customer service and that the products will be replaced,” Murray said. “I would definitely recommend STE Products to other childcare centres and would especially praise them for their efficiency and friendly service.”
